Not a page, but I put the hiatus notice up for Lemongrass. Here’s hoping I’m back to drawing again soon :(

I think I’m going to have to put Lemongrass on hiatus for a couple of weeks and then take it down to one page per week because my hands really haven’t recovered enough for me to finish the current page. I do so much computer stuff at work that my hands didn’t really get the chance to rest, even with a day off for the funeral and spending most of today out. It’s very frustrating to have to do this, but I don’t want to/hope I haven’t already caused permanent damage, so I’m going to take a break from drawing for a bit and see if that helps.

I just hope I’ve got enough stuff to watch to get me through a fortnight of not using my hands, because I can’t draw, write, play games, make clothes for my dolls or do any of the things I actually enjoy :(

Taken from the pier with my phone and shamelessly over-edited.

This is the laziest colouring I’ve done in ages but sometimes it’s nice not to draw serious stuff I suppose? I don’t know why I drew these two because they’re not even favourites of mine, but I felt like it for some reason.

I was totally kidding myself about three pages this weekend. Even if I hadn’t done my hand in I have a funeral to attend tomorrow, a second birthday celebration for my grandfather on Saturday (my aunt decided he needed one last weekend as well as the one this week that we’d had arranged for ages), and a doll meet on Sunday. I shall be satisfied if I get page 100 up, but I’m not expecting anything more.

Page 100 definitely won’t be going up before the weekend because I hurt my hand by spending too much time drawing last week and I banned myself from using the tablet :(

I’m going to see if I can make it to page 105 which ends chapter 4, and then I think I’ll take a couple of weeks off between chapters again, even though I’ve already started pencilling it.

de-fine-art:

As a young architect and wanna-be fine artist, I am absolutely mesmerized by artist Jeremy Mann.

The way he instills the somber energy and flow in his cityscapes, bringing them to just the right level of abstraction, makes you feel as though you are there with him in a dream you can’t quite remember clearly.

Page 99 of Lemongrass is up!
Read from the beginning.
Featuring two of the cast members as teenagers in a brief flashback.
Page 100 will be up either mid week or with next week’s pages deepening on how long it takes me to finish the thing.

I haven’t even finished inking page 99 yet, but the monstrosity that is page 100 is inked and partially coloured. I think my inking skills have levelled up doing it, because there’s so much detail that I had to rely more on line thickness to achieve the right level of depth.

This guy is such a pain to photograph nicely. He also needs a new wig because his giant wide head doesn’t really go with the shape of this one. I want a nice long angora wig for him, but that will have to wait until I have money.
