Small rant about trying to buy things on DOA.
So I’ve been trying to negotiate buying a doll from someone for almost the last month. It’s not that there’s a lot of negotiation to be done, it’s just that she apparently doesn’t check the site or her email very often. She’s very nice and polite, but I asked her for a shipping quote over two weeks ago and I still haven’t had a response (and I know she has an internet connection because she’s been online on other sites since then, but I don’t want to pester her elsewhere since no money had changed hands yet).
Really, you’d think I wasn’t trying to give her a massive amount of money or something. There’s another seller with the doll I want up, but it’s an extra $150 and I really don’t want to pay that unless I absolutely have to.
Maybe I have too much time on my hands, but I check stuff at least daily when I’m trying to conduct a transaction. I know I probably shouldn’t be buying from someone who takes ages to reply to PMs, but I have enough money to pay in a single instalment now so at least I can make a PayPal claim if I buy the doll and she doesn’t get back to me with the shipping details.
